Native to Queensland, Australia there are two species of Lepidozamia. Both species look alike morphologically with obvious differences in geography. Both species grow well and cone in Florida. They are excellent landscape specimens because they form trunks and get massive and unlike most cycads, they have no spines. Most people do not have space for a mature hopei. The cones are among the largest of cycads, the seeds are among the largest, and the trunks are probably the tallest of any cycads.
