Dioon spinulosum

This species is one of three large leaf dioon species with rzedowski and media. Spinulosum is the most common of the larger dioon species and possibly as common in cultivation as Dioon edile. In habitat, plants are becoming rarer due to farming and habitat loss. In Florida, this is a great substitution for Cycas revolute (sago palm). Sago palm is blighted with CAS pest problems that make it suffer and die however spinulosusm is not a host for CAS and thrives.
