Dioon argenteum

This is unequivocally the king of Dioons. The name argenteum comes from the Latin word for silver because of the appearance of the plant with new growths. It is a recently discovered species that is not well known to cultivation. Only a few collectors and botanical gardens have this plant in cultivation. The species performs very well when given full sun. As of spring, 2014 a few seedlings are available at our nursery.
