Ceratozamia morettii

Ceratozamia morettii

This species is a cliff-dwelling Ceratozamia from high elevations in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. The plants have pendant leaves with fierce prickles. They are known locally to a goat herder as “tpezanaite”, we were told the male cones are soaked in milk to make a poison.
