Ceratozamia subroseophylla

Ceratozamia subroseophylla is a new name for a well known plant.  This plant was elevated to species level by the description published in 2016.  In the past we’ve enjoyed cultivating this plant known as Ceratozamia robusta ‘Santiago Tuxtla’.  The habit and character of the plant make it distinct with a shuttlecock habit to the foliage and falcate leaflets.  The new growth is a gorgeous color.  I’ve cultivated plants in full sun as well as shade.  Reports are that this species is not as cold tolerant as other Ceratozamias so care should be exercised in cool climates.
