Ceratozamia morettii is a cliff dwelling Ceratozamia from high elevations in the state of Veracruz, Mexico.  Begonias and Gunnera and tree ferns on cliffs with a forest of Liquidambar and podocarpus make this an exotic setting.  Plants have pendant leaves with fierce prickles.  Known locally to a goat herder as “tpezanaite” we were told the male cones are soaked in milk to make a poison.
