Coccothrinax munizii is an attractive palm from southeast Cuba.  Munizii resides less than 20 miles from Coccothrinax torrida however due to the rugged terrain dominated by coastal incluence, mountains, and limestone outcroppings there is substantial reason to see the species as distinct.  One significant difference is the length of the inflorescence on Coccothrinax munizii is much shorter.  The habitat is very similar and the palms look similar to Coccothrinax torrida.
