Coccothrinax bermudezii

Coccothrinax bermudezii is native to eastern Cuba where it occurs on serpentine soils.  This is a very attractive species with distinct tapering of the top surface of the leaves around the hastula.  The palms are locally abundant in a restricted pocket of serpentine soil growing with a dwarf species of Tabebeuia, Comocladia, a nice red flowering Coccoloba, and thorny scrub vegetatioin.
